Redbrick Artspace is a creative lifestyle studio based in Linden, Johannesburg & Hillcrest, Durban. Headed by the visual artist, Lucelle Bernadette Pillay and her daughter, Jodie Azalea Pillay, this studio is abuzz with creative solutions, services and products. We offer custom artwork which includes both traditional and digital mediums as well as inspiring workshops for budding artists. We have reconceptualized the tattoo experience with a focus on unique designs and skillfully delicate application. We work on long and short term projects for corporate and private clients, such as art exhibitions, fashion shows and brand activations that require custom 2D & 3D artwork and installations.

Lucelle Bernadette Pillay

Lucelle holds a Masters Degree in Visual Art.

She is a practicing artist, designer, lecturer, academic, art writer and content creator.

Her research interests are focused on holistic art techniques and human-centred technologies that enrich the lives of people of all ages. With over 14 years of experience in art education, Lucelle applies methods that assist students with learning and developmental challenges. She also exhibits her own artwork annually and creates fabulous coture fashion ranges. As a perpetual student of the arts, she is currently working towards a PhD & thereafter, travelling to interesting places.

Jodie Azalea

Jodie is a practicing tattoo artist and entrepreneur with studios based in Durban and Joburg.

She is a graduate of the National School of the Arts and has earned the reputation as the youngest and most talented upcoming female artist. Her clients benefit from her uniquely evocative design options and her skillful yet light-handed application methods. After fulfilling various apprenticeships and guest positions, Jodie has acquired the know-how to successfully run her own studios. Constantly researching improved methods relating to her craft, she works with only the best machinery and technology. She aspires to corner the future market of body art, permanent makeup and custom body jewelry.
